The TECHNODOLLY robotic camera is the first of its generation. It is the smart Technocrane. Film directors can now conceive camera movements without compromise. Directors of Photography can shoot their ideas within minutes, and achieve memorable results. Producers appreciate how much time is saved. Actors will appreciate doing fewer takes.
In terms of its cinematographic possibilities, the TECHNODOLLY can be used by crews to create movements of unlimited length and complexity. These camera moves can be repeated with precision, even at different speeds.The Director or DP place the camera at the start, any number of places along the way, then where she wants the shot to end; the TECHNODOLLY then makes a smooth path. If corrections are needed the camera operator can quickly make them and you’re ready to shoot. For live action, the camera crew overrides the TECHNODOLLY’s Pan, Tilt, zoom and focus during the move. Now you can also use the crane as a gravity-free hand held camera and it will remember the moves, allowing for true “follow along” work; all the while sending the camera’s position to 3D software in real time.
The TECHNODOLLY stores unlimited amounts of moves and can repeat these shots months later or on any other TECHNODOLLY in the world.The telescopic arm, camera head, focus, zoom and iris are always reliably on their marks. With its motorized base the TECHNODOLLY covers movements within a space as big as 25 foot wide, 15 ft. high and 80 ft. long.
